I am Miriam.

I am married to the amazing Grant B. Pinkston, who supports me in every aspect of who I am,  and have two incredible sons, Jonah (4) and Abner (2) with another one on the way, due in about one month.

I am Third Culture Kid, who grew up in Berlin Germany.  I got to witness the Fall of the Berlin Wall and it is history in the making that makes me want to capture all the little moments in my life and those of others.

I married my best friend, who has enabled me to participate in many adventures.  Living together in 5 different States and three different countries, since the start of our marriage in 2004.  Since the beginning of 2007 we are a military family and are currently in Kaiserslautern, Germany.

Having seen many places and many people and then missing them once gone, has inspired my love for Photography.  To capture the uniqueness and beauty of the moment is my desire.  Having watched my two boys change drastically over just a few years, missing my family and friends everywhere and seeing the changes occur so quickly, watching the clouds roll over the sky and a raindrop about to fall off the petal of a flower – those are my motivation to capture a moment in time.

I love people. Their smiles, their tears, their hands, faces, dimples, and wrinkles.  I love their expressions when they don’t know someone is watching.  I love to see their beauty when they may not.  I love to catch them in the moments when they are truly themselves.

I love nature.  The vastness of it, the tiny details, the diversity, the simplicity.  I love a blade of grass or the grandness of a mountain.

I love God’s Creation.   I try to capture it.  I will never do it justice.  But I will always try!

  1. Your words are as beautiful and expressive as are your pictures. You have the tremendous gift of capturing those precious moments in time that you bless us with…. and I am thankful.

  2. You have so much talent. I am amazed at your ability to capture such beauty in the simplest things.

Thank you so much for helping all of us see and appreciate God’s creation even more. You are a blessing…
